Steve Szemerenyi OBE 1942 - 2012
We are very sorry to announce that Steve Szemerenyi OBE, Housemaster of Fargate 1972-74 and The Lodge 1974-80, died on New Years Day. Highgate School intends to commemorate Stephen’s enormous contribution to the school, and we hope that you will be able to join us in doing so. We will be talking to the family about how they would like his memory to be celebrated and perpetuated, and we will share our ideas with you and all his former pupils.
Jon Canter's (HG 1965) book serialised on BBC Radio 4
Jon Canter’s (HG 1965) novel A Short Gentleman is currently being serialised on BBC Radio 4, Wednesday mornings at 11.30. Hugh Bonneville plays the hero, Robert Purcell QC; a perfect specimen of the British Establishment, who applies faultless legal logic to his disastrous personal life. Jon is currently working on a stage version of A Short Gentleman and is about to embark on his next novel.

Kamil Farage (SG c/2003) to kayak the full length of the River Gambia
Kamil and a friend are taking on the challenge of a lifetime in support of a charity he set up in memory of his late brother, Shadie. The challenge involves kayaking the 320 mile length of the River Gambia in just 12 days. Click here to find out more and support Kamil.

Oskar McCarthy (SG 2007) to direct Jerry Springer: The Opera at the ADC Theatre in Cambridge: This November, the hugely successful and critically acclaimed Jerry Springer: The Opera will open at the ADC Theatre in Cambridge, directed by Oskar McCarthy OC, currently an undergraduate student at Caius College.
